Intrigue Technologies Launches New Harmony Remotes
Mississauga, Ontario, January 6, 2003— Intrigue Technologies Inc., Creators of the award winning Harmony Remote Control announced the release of the New Harmony Remote SST-768 and SST 748 to be shown for the first time at this year’s CES. The original Harmony Remote has won numerous prestigious design and innovation awards and the latest models provide a natural extension of all the best features from the award-winning original design. Intrigue Technologies has done a bit more than simply create another remote control. In fact, the Harmony family of remotes are really a hand-held computers that understand the way your TV’s DVD’s, PVR’s and other consumer electronic devices work. By understanding how they work the Harmony is able to send the necessary commands that control all of your entertainment components together as though they where one device with a simple user interface. The Web connected SST remotes take advantage of Smart State Technology to put simple control into the hands of frustrated home theater owners. SST does not require complicated Macros to set up multiple components or any specialized knowledge. With a Harmony Remote, all anyone needs to do is select the Activity Icon from the LCD display and Smart State Technology will automatically configure the entertainment system. The New Harmony Remotes are developed at Intrigue Technologies Inc in Mississauga. They carry price tags of $299.00 and $199.00 USD for the Harmony Remote SST-768 and SST-748 respectively. Both models control all home entertainment devices including the TV, VCR, DVD, Lighting Control, Satellite receiver, CD, Radio and MP3 players, eliminating the need for multiple remotes. The Harmony Remote’s capabilities reach far beyond basic control of electronic equipment allowing the user to connect to the Internet via a standard USB port and computer to download customized TV listings, which are displayed on the Harmony Remote’s LCD screen. Additionally, the Zap feature notes what television program the user is interested in. When connected to the Internet, Harmony's "zapped" programs are listed and the viewer is able to link to World Wide Web sites to learn more about the Television program they selected. Using the Zap feature, the user can obtain a recipe from their favorite cooking show or find other information of interest.
