Every now and then, something comes along that doesn’t fall into any predetermined category. In this case it’s the
Radio Shack 15-2133 universal remote control, which makes use of Universal Electronics’ new
Kameleon technology. The 15-2133 can’t quite be classified as either a hard buttoned or an LCD touchscreen remote – it’s really something in-between. Much like a traditional electroluminescent backlight crossed with LCD segmentation, the Kameleon’s smooth surface illuminates only active controls and can even change a button’s label – yet still offers tactile feedback.
Today I’m pleased to announce a full review of this unique remote control, packed with plenty of photographs. Sporting that nifty Kameleon interface and a distinctive physical design, the $59 15-2133 seems like a great bargain – but could it be a case of form over function? Read the review to see!
