The home theater and home automation-oriented CEDIA Expo, second in size only to CES, is quickly becoming a premier location to release new products. And indeed this year’s show – held for the first time in Atlanta, Georgia – was no exception. In addition to all the new audio, video and home automation devices at the show, the major remote control vendors were all showing their latest wares, and we’ve obtained exclusive interviews on their latest products.
I’m pleased to bring you our fifteenth video production, the CEDIA Expo 2009 Virtual Tour. This year’s report is an information-packed eighteen minutes with interviews from four of the biggest names in universal remote controls.
Here’s what you can expect to see:
- Universal Remote Control Inc.’s MX-880Z, MRZ-260, MRX-1, KP-4000 & MX-5000
- Universal Electronics Inc.’s NevoC2 & NevoC3
- Monster Cable’s Monster Control Central AV50 & AV55
- Philips Electronics’ Pronto TSU9300 (& advanced capabilities)
- Crestron’s Isys i/O TPMC-3X
- RTI’s RK-10, ST-7, vIRsa Mouse & Virtual Panel
- UTAS’ UX3500 & UX7000
Better late than never? Usually I have our CEDIA Expo reports out much quicker than this, but a number of outside factors, combined with this video being the impetus behind the entire video section’s revamp, resulted in it being pushed back until now.
You’ll find 720p and “regular” encodes, both in MPEG-4 AVC/AAC format. The highly recommended 720p version should play on the majority of modern PCs, but if you have any difficulties be sure to try the “regular” version. Thanks to today’s re-mastering of the CES 2005 video, this is now our tenth video produced in high definition!
Features push-to-talk voice control of Amazon Alexa and Apple TV via Siri.
