URC® Announces Faster, Smaller, Wi-Fi Connected Z-Wave® Gateway, the TRF-ZW2
New Z-Wave gateway does not require Cat5 and supports all-new User Interface with URC Vivido® specific programming
October 15, 2015 - URC's TRF-ZW2 replaces the TRF-ZW1 Z-Wave Gateway. It features Wi-Fi connectivity complete with WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) for easy pushbutton paring, a smaller form factor, faster processing and 2X total memory. Available now.
The TRF-ZW2 and its predecessor both support UI7 graphic user interface. You will find more details about UI7 in the next section.
Cat Toomey, URC Director of Marketing, says, "Z-Wave is hot and our new gateway is even hotter. It's potentially 20% faster than its predecessor and packs the very latest Z-Wave chipset into a super-small form factor. The new, ultramodern GUI allows end-users to set their own lighting scenes quickly and easily. And end-users have the option of activating their private account to enjoy offsite access to Z-Wave control."
New "UI7" User Interface is modern and attractive. It streamlines programming and general control of Z-Wave devices for both the dealer and end-user. Also, it provides URC Vivido specific programming, e.g., Device Parameters, EZ Association, and Intuitive Instructions for including our lighting devices). UI7 includes an end-User account wizard that makes it easier for an end-user to change lighting scenes and set up how they want to manage their account.

The Vivido Wall Mount Five-scene Keypad
Mounts in a standard single-gang electrical box and is powered by normal household line voltage (120V/AC 60Hz). It activates up to five (5) preset scenes by manually pushing one of the five buttons on the keypad. Scenes are a group of devices set to customized levels or states. The keypad has five buttons for turning individual scenes both ON and OFF. A blue LED on each button provides scene status notification and LEDs also dim when a scene has been deactivated. Each scene can be brightened or dimmed by pressing and holding any active (ON) scene's button. The button located on the side of the device transmits an All-OFF command to only devices associated with that scene controller.
Appliance Switching Module
The Vivido Appliance Switching Module plugs directly into the wall. Any device up to 600 Watts, including appliances, then plugs into the Switching Module. The module provides other programmable functions (scenes, events, association, child lockout, etc.) when installed as part of a Total Control system. Plug-in modules can be manually controlled and remotely controlled by commands sent from URC and other Z-Wave compatible controllers or programs.
RF Duplex Receptacle
The Vivido split receptacle replaces regular receptacles to provide local and remote RF ON/OFF control of a single outlet. Moreover, the receptacle provides other programmable functions (scenes, events, association, child lockout, etc.) when used with a URC or other Z-Wave® compliant controllers.
The Vivido Battery Operated Switch/Dimmer
Controls RF receptacles, switches or dimmers to provide remote On/Off/Dim/Bright control. This switch/dimmer provides other programmable functions (association, child lockout, etc.) when used with Vivido or other Z-Wave® compliant products. It is intended to manually control other Z-Wave devices through association. Utilizes two CR2025 batteries and mounts flush to the wall. No new wiring is required-so it's ideal for retrofits.
Two DACs, a delay module and extender kit highlight new offerings.
