Something that's been causing various levels of confusion in the
Home Theater Master forum is Universal Remote Control's tendency to quietly change products - typically for the better. With three known versions of the MX-500 out there - plus one just discovered - it's natural that folks are confused as to what they have, which they'd prefer, and what they may end up with if trading it in. So, I've updated our MX-500 review with every change that's been made since I reviewed the original version of the remote. That includes button materials, thumbpads, case design and more. You'll also find photo comparisons of the two keypad styles and four thumbpad designs.

Sony RM-AV3000 shipments...
Folks eager to pick up the new Sony RM-AV3000 have discovered that it's become somewhat difficult to locate. I can say that the first shipment has indeed already arrived in the US and is currently on its way to resellers this week. The first place you'll be able to find the remote is Circuit City, followed by Sony authorized stores, followed by everyone else. To keep up-to-date with what's going on, be sure to visit the Sony Remotes forum.
Features push-to-talk voice control of Amazon Alexa and Apple TV via Siri.
The MXHP-R700 adds a more fully-featured remote control to the MX HomePro platform.
