If you’ve been wondering where exactly all the updates have been... well, we’ve been working hard and can finally release some of our efforts!
Surprise new video!
Have you ever wondered just what goes into the making of a remote control? Well, have we got a treat for you!
Today I’m pleased to present the first entry in our documentary series, You Had To Know: The Making of a Remote Control. In this exclusive video we’ll take you behind the scenes into previously unfilmed territory as we go on a tour of the Philips Pronto NG manufacturing plant located in Leuven, Belgium. You’ll get to see the construction of a Pronto NG series touchscreen remote, from bare circuit board to final packaging. It’s a fascinating process that you won’t be able to see anywhere else!
As always, the video is available in three different quality levels: “small” for dial-up users, “large” for broadband, and “HDTV” for those who desire the ultimate quality experience. Check it out!

File area updates.
Next up is a major overhaul of our remote control file area – which you may have already noticed if you just came back from checking out our new video. This isn’t simply a minor tweaking into the new wider format (as previewed in our last two reviews), but is in fact a complete rethink and total rewrite of all display code to make better use of space and present information cleaner and more logically. And we squashed a number of long standing bugs as well! I hope you enjoy the new look, and please be sure to report any problems.

To go along with the new visual appearance we’re also launching a brand new file section for the Universal Electronics Inc. NevoSL remote control. Users of this innovate Windows CE-based color touchscreen remote have been demanding an area for some time now, and I’m happy to report that we’ve received enough pre-submissions to make this possible – so be sure to check out everything that’s already available.

Finally, two existing file areas have also been expanded to support additional remote control models.
The RTI TheaterTouch T2 file area will now include support for the TheaterTouch T1, TheaterTouch T2+ and TheaterTouch T3, while the Home Theater Master MX-700 & MX-800 file area adds the Complete Control MX-850, MX-950, along with just-in-time support for the MX-900 and TX-1000 which will be shipping shortly. To switch between displaying all files and only those files intended for a particular model, use the “Focus” pull-down in the top-right corner of the screen.
As always, our file areas exist thanks to the submissions of fellow remote control owners – possibly just like you! If you have a NevoSL configuration or a file for any other remote control, please take the time to upload it to us.
