Review: | I just received my VL700 yesterday and was able to encode in 1 hour all the necessary "learned" commands I wanted from my other remotes for: JVC TV, Panasonic VCR, Pioneer Audio/Video Receiver, and Sony CD. Interestingly, the VL700 is a Sony product but I could not get it to "automatically" recogonize my older Sony CD player (so I manually forced "learned" all the CD commands I wanted into the DVD button on the VL700). One area I was very happy with was the ability of the VL700 to use my Audio/Video Receiver's Mute, Volume, and Channel Up/Down buttons for my TV and VCR... without having to press the TV or VCR button first! (I have all my equipment connected to the Receiver unit.)This is called "Controlling the Volume of Visual Components Connected to an Audio System" and is described on p24 of the instruction manual. Lastly, the PIP works well. I have PIP on by TV and PIP on my VCR. Basically, the default PIP worked very well. I had to "learn" some commands when in the VCR mode to make it meet my complete needs, but it was no problem and did what I wanted. |
