Site update...
Remote Central continues to move ever closer towards a complete shift to the new design!

I have today uploaded new home and major index pages, which completes the transition on all parts of the site except for the message forums. So, since that final switchover will be occurring very soon, I would appreciate it if you could look around the prototype forum layout and let me know if you spot any bugs or have any suggestions. Remember, right now the prototype will NOT let you make new posts, and some information (such as the number of posts and last poster) will be inaccurate at this time.

Converting to the new layout has taken a lot of manual labor, and while I've been slaving over a hot keyboard it was inevitable that file uploads would begin to build up to significant numbers. Wait no longer! I'm very pleased to report that as of today, Monday, the file areas are completely caught up-to-date with all submissions available for download. There's a total of 396 new database entries - check it out!

If you have something that you'd like to share with the remote control community, be sure to upload it!

Philips Pronto Professional, Teaser 2...
It would appear that Philips plans on slowly releasing hints on their new Pronto Professional TSU9600 touchscreen remote until the official revelation at CEDIA. Their most recent teaser comes in the form of this line drawing and the following text:

Designed by installers, made by Philips

When designing the latest Pronto, Philips went to custom installers to gain a better insight into their needs, and those of their customers. The result is a stylish unit that not only provides the end-user with intuitive fingertip home control, but also saves the installer valuable time by increasing programming efficiency and operational reliability.

Exceptional design
Sensational design and a stunning color display characterize the new Pronto, giving it instant appeal to style-conscious end-users. The smooth topped unit features a "soft feel" ergonomic grip with an elegant metallic finish that raises the standards for design and style. In short, it looks superb in any home environment!
