Review: | The RM-AV2000 is a very easy way to get a lot of power set up for anyone to use, very quickly. It's one of the best things to just hand someone after you've set it up -- it's the proverbial remote that "the whole family can use."
If you keep to the simple stuff, it is a very instinctive and easy to use remote. It's when you start trying to get around its limitations, and start programming things on buttons with labels that say something else, that it starts getting difficult. And, you'll probably get to that point, since you can't control the labels, and there just aren't enough buttons to get everything done unless you resort to this kind of strategy.
So, this is a "maybe" remote -- "maybe" it can control everything you want controlled. As I said, if you keep it simple, fine. If you want to get complicated, you'll probably start looking for yet another remote.
Finally, I really appreciated the "hard buttons" on the remote, which are more plentiful than you'll find on most other touchscreen remotes. They helped avoid some of the inevitable "you've got to look at it and study it to figure out where the button is" syndrome that you get with a touchscreen remote.
