I would also bet that appleTV and ChromeCast are more reliable and easier to use than the Barco

There's no worse feeling than that millisecond you're sure you are going to die after leaning your chair back a little too far. |

if your laptop supports it, Can't you just add the Sony tv as a wireless display to Windows 8 or newer?
|
One thing I have learned in this industry. It is easier to pull a wire than it is to push one. |

Laptop was WiFi, roku wired Thanks. I have both as an option. The Roku's are hardwired, and the laptop can be as I have a plug under the table at the laptop location (don't usually use it).

How? With a Miracast dongle (that would be ok)? Or can the Sony be added as a wireless display without any additional hardware (that would be great)? I don't have an XBR at my immediate disposal otherwise I'd just find out what it can do. On December 8, 2018 at 13:45, rbhfan said...

mirracast and chromecast built in [Link: sony.com]but I have seen cheaper laptops that don't offer the ability to add a wireless display

Thanks. We'll try what's included before adding anything extra. On December 11, 2018 at 19:33, rbhfan said...

Guess I'll need a dongle, as my windows 10 laptop doe not have miracast on board and the Roku4 doesn't show up on the network..
Funny though, that when at the beach, the Firestick IS seen on the wifi network.

Have a setup with an ATV, and a ClickShare (for the ability to display PC content). Was really unimpressed with the iOS abilities. So, Air Parrot would be the way to go at a $987.01 savings? Will have to check it out...
