New high-end home theater products
Marantz is adding a number of new high-end products to its home theater product this year. First is the PV6480W 64" HDTV-ready rear-projection television. The $9,999 PV6480W can display a full 1920 by 1080 interlaced HDTV image and comes complete with a host of digital and analog inputs and, as the icing on the cake, an RC5000i remote control.
Moving up, the new PD5010D 50" 16:9 widescreen plasma display is the biggest one ever offered in Marantz's lineup. The $20,9999 PD5010D delivers bright, high contrast images thanks to its exclusive image enhancement technologies such as special pixel color filtration and masking, selectable automatic/manual color temperature control, intelligent scaling and scan conversion. It features a high-resolution 1365 by 768 pixel array and full compatibility with 480p, 720p and 1080i HD video signals comes with a full array of inputs including a UXGA computer input, all in a package only four inches deep. The set will ship with a Marantz RC2000 Mk II remote control.
Marantz's new $899 DV7100 DVD player features progressive-scan output and includes advanced digital video and audio technologies such as 10-bit 27MHz video processing, 24-bit audio DACs with true 96kHz/24-bit audio output, Marantz's exclusive High Definition Amplifier Modules in the analog output stage, plus many other additional high-end performance and convenience features. The DV7100 is also compatible with CD-R, CD-RW and Video CD discs and will be available in February 2001.
Marantz is also bolstering their DVD player lineup with a new SACD/DVD video player, the SA-12S1. Available mid-2001, the SA-12S1 features leading-edge digital audio decoding and video processing circuitry to bring out the best in SACD and DVD-Video discs. It employs audiophile-grand components and construction throughout, such as separate transformers for analog and digital circuits, premium capacitors, 12 Marantz HDAM discrete output stages, a machined metal alloy chassis, internal shielding and shock-absorbing feet. In addition to multichannel and two-channel SACD playback, the SA-12S1 is also compatible with Dolby Digital and DTS DVD discs, CD, CD-R, CD-RW and Video CD discs. Pricing has not yet been announced.
For those looking for only a SACD player, Marantz will be delivering with the SA-14 Super Audio Compact Disc player. The $2,899 SA-14 also employs audiophile-grade components and construction to bring out the best in the new format.
The new SR-19EX digital sound receiver incorporates a number of upgrades from the SR-19, including THX Surround EX and DTS 6.1-channel decoding, 24-bit 192kHz D/A conversion on all seven channels and main room and multi-room on-screen display. The SR-19EX pumps no less than 130 watts into each of its five main channels and includes an impressive set of inputs and outputs including three sets of component inputs, front panel A/V inputs, six digital inputs and many analog connections. The SR-19EX will have a MSRP of $2,299 and ships with a special version of the Marantz RC-2000 Mk II remote control.
Marantz's MV5100 is the finest VCR ever offered by the company. The $549 MV5100 employs the SVHS ET format for recoding of near-SVHS quality on regular VHS tapes. The machine will also offer a wide range of advanced features such as Digital Studio Picture Control, VCR+, 19 micron heads, clear still and slow motion video, tape management, "turbo timer" for easy timer recording without the on-screen menus, audio dubbing plus much more.
